I’ve updated my website. In fact, it’s sort of rebuilt using a different and simpler template. It’s functional and I like that.
There’s a couple of reasons for this. The new template is more functional, and because all the content is effectively text based, it’s really fast.
I used to run the website on an Azure storage account with a CDN front of it. Microsoft has deprecated the CDN service in favour of Azure Front Door. While Azure Front Door is quite good, it also has a fixed monthly costs which I can’t really justify based on the low traffic my site gets.
As I am no longer working for Microsoft, I can use any service. So, the service is now deploy using AWS Amplify which is rather painless to get it updated and deployed.
I do have some additional changes to make such as adding a touch of colour, search and discussions. That’s for the future.
